Garage Door Panel Repair in Los Angeles, CA

How a garage door panel gets replaced

First the door comes down and stays down. The springs get clamped or unwound so the section carries no load. Vise grips go on the track above the roller. Hinges between the damaged section and its neighbors come off, then the end hinges and rollers. The section slides out sideways, usually toward the wider side of the garage. The replacement goes in, hinges get transferred or renewed, and the door is cycled by hand before the opener ever touches it.

Alignment is the fussy part. A section that sits a hair out of square binds at the top radius. We check the gap between sections along the full width, not just at the ends.

Matching is the other problem. Older 1960s-80s sectional wood and hardboard doors are often discontinued. Steel raised-panel stampings vary by maker, and paint chalks on south exposures, so a new white section rarely matches the faded ones. Sometimes the honest answer is repaint the whole door, or replace it.

Look at why the panel failed. Santa Ana grit in the rollers. A bottom rail wicking sprinkler overspray. Loose header lag bolts letting track hangers drift. Fix the panel only and it dents again.

What Happens After You Call

Call and tell me what the door is doing, or send a photo if it's easier. Most mornings I can be at your address inside 90 minutes, and I give you a real arrival time, not a half day window.

I look at the springs, cables, rollers and opener, then tell you the price out loud before a single tool comes off the truck. A broken torsion spring usually runs around 180 to 340 installed, and the look is free.

I do the repair that day, run the door up and down a few times with you watching, balance it, and sweep up the metal shavings. You pay the number I quoted, nothing added at the end.
