What affects the cost of a garage door repair?

How long does a typical repair take?
Most single-visit repairs run under two hours. Spring replacement, cable re-spooling, roller swaps, and opener gear kits are all same-visit work when we have the part on the truck. Full opener replacement or a bent section that needs new hardware can push past that. If we find a second problem once the door is open, we tell you before we keep going.

Do you offer same-day service?
Yes, most days. Call in the morning and we can usually be at your place that afternoon. Santa Ana wind weeks in the fall are our busiest stretch, since blown dust and debris jam tracks and trip photo eyes across the whole basin, so slots fill earlier then. My spring snapped. Is it safe to use the door?
No. Leave it alone. A torsion spring holds the full weight of the door, and with one broken the door can drop fast or the remaining spring can fail next. Don't pull the release and lift it by hand. Don't run the opener either, since it will strain the gears or bend the top section trying to lift a load it was never rated for. Park outside, keep kids and pets away from the opening, and call us.

Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Labor is warranted, and parts carry the manufacturer coverage that comes with them. Springs are rated by cycle count, and we tell you which rating we're installing so you know what you're buying. If the same failure comes back inside the warranty window, we return and make it right at no charge. Your invoice lists the parts and the coverage in writing.

The door will not open at all. What should I do first?
Check whether the opener motor hums or the light flashes. If nothing happens, check the breaker and the outlet the opener is plugged into. If the motor runs but the door stays put, the trolley may have come off the carriage or a cable may have jumped its drum, and you should stop pressing the button. Look at the springs above the door. A visible gap in the coil means the spring is broken and the door is not going anywhere until it's replaced. Beyond those checks, leave it and call.

How do I tell an opener problem from a door problem?
Pull the red release cord with the door closed and lift by hand. A balanced door moves with light effort and stays put around waist height, which points at the opener, the remotes, or the safety sensors. If it's heavy, drags in the track, or slams back down, the problem is the door itself: springs, cables, or rollers. Grinding at the motor head with no movement is usually a stripped gear. Sun-baked south- and west-facing doors also warp and bind over years of UV, which reads like an opener fault but isn't.
